The concept for the Kostenets single-family house is inspired by the breathtaking views of the Rila Mountains and the desire to create a home that feels warm and inviting. The roof is a defining feature of the project. Designed as a gabled form, it clearly articulates the interior spaces, while its detailing allows the timber structural elements to remain exposed and visible within the interior.
The living space is dramatic and full of character, rising through one and a half levels and opening up through generous glazing. It accommodates the kitchen, dining area, and the interior staircase within a single open-plan environment. The ground floor also includes an entrance hall, home office, storage room, and guest WC. The upper floor features two bedrooms, a bathroom, a laundry room, a terrace, a corridor, and a gallery overlooking the living space below.
A spacious garage and workshop has been designed as a separate structure, positioned close to the street. Particular attention has been paid to the site grading, ensuring a smooth and natural transition between the garage and the house.

The façade is composed of warm, natural materials with an earthy character. Timber plays a defining role throughout the design, featuring prominently in both the roof structure and the façade.
The upper-level terrace provides additional stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
The garage is designed to function as both a parking space and a workshop, while the carefully considered site grading creates a seamless connection between it and the house.
Stone cladding serves as the second key material in the façade composition.
The living space rises through one and a half levels, creating a dramatic sense of openness, while expansive glazing fills the interior with natural light and frames beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
